Rotary International
Rotary is an international membership organization that does service to change lives. Our global network of 1.4 million members consisting of our neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers see a world where PEOPLE unite and take action to CREATE lasting CHANGE across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves.
Rotary was formed by Paul Harris (an attorney) and three of his friends on February 23, 1905, in Chicago, 119 years ago.
The world today is not the same as it was in 1905. Demographics have shifted, the pace of change has accelerated, and technology has created new opportunities for connection and service. What has not changed however, is Rotary’s core values of:
Fellowship, integrity, diversity, service, and leadership.
Our members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on the world’s most critical issues, which we have identified in our 7 areas of focus. Our 47,000+ clubs in the world work together:
- Promote peace
- Fight disease
- Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Save mothers and children
- Support education
- Grow local economies
- Protect our environment
We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

One of our actions has brought about the eradication of Polio. When we started our initiative in the eradication of Polio, there were 350,000 cases of polio in 125 countries, today only two countries have not eradicated Polio: Afghanistan and Pakistan.
As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Rotaryvalues diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
These principles have been developed over the years to provide Rotarians with a strong, common purpose and direction. They serve as a foundation for our relationships with each other and the action we take in the world.
We live by our ethical guide in our personal and professional relationships which we refer to as The Four-Way Test which many clubs recite at club meetings:

UCLA Scholarship
Changing Students Lives
The Rancho Park Rotary Club is delighted to announce its ongoing commitment to supporting higher education through our annual scholarship program. Each year, we award scholarships to three deserving students at UCLA. This program, which began in 2010, has grown significantly over the years. To date, we have proudly supported more than 40 recipients who have benefited from this prestigious scholarship.
Our scholarship program is designed to recognize and reward academic excellence, leadership, and community service. We believe in the power of education to transform lives and are dedicated to helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. The recipients of our scholarships have gone on to make significant contributions in their fields of study and beyond, embodying the values of the Rancho Park Rotary Club.
We are committed to continuing this tradition of excellence and look forward to supporting many more UCLA students in the years to come. Our scholarship program is a testament to our belief in the potential of young people and our dedication to fostering their growth and success.
